A special type of machine, a self-propelled boom lift with horizontal outreach, moving on rubber tracks. “Spider” lifts are dual-powered and suitable for outdoor use.
When elevated, the machine’s stability is ensured by 4 outriggers instead of counterweights, which means the self-weight of “Spider” lifts is only 20-30% of that of boom lifts with similar working heights. Thanks to their rubber tracks, the machine’s specific ground pressure is a fraction of that of self-propelled lifts, thus preventing damage to surfaces such as gymnasium floors, paving stones (viacolor), and grassy areas.
“Spider” lifts are dual-powered, meaning they can operate from mains voltage (230V AC) via an extension cord, making them quiet and emission-free. At the same time, they also have an internal combustion engine, which allows for convenient and fast movement of the machine.
With folded rubber tracks and the basket removed, most machine types can pass through a standard doorway, which is very useful if the architect designed a single-leaf entrance door for a 10-12 meter high gymnasium or department store.
